Webinar #1: Counseling Prospective International Students and Families in Today’s U.S. Climate

Thursday, March 5th, 12:30pm EST

As prospective international students and families navigate uncertainty around U.S. policies, institutions, agencies, and service providers play a critical role in offering clear, compassionate guidance. This opening webinar of AIRC’s 2026 Webinar Series focuses on practical counseling strategies for today’s complex U.S. climate. Hear directly from a current international student on which campus resources best offer support and direction and how institutions can communicate those resources effectively. The session will also examine how agencies and in-country representatives are adapting their counseling approaches, articulating the value of U.S. study, and supporting students considering multiple global destinations. The discussion will conclude with strategies for communicating rapid policy and immigration changes clearly and responsibly to students, families, and campus partners, ensuring consistent messaging and sustained trust during times of change.
